Electrical stimulating electrodes

Current stimulating electrodes The electrode (a) is soft stainless steel bifilar wire 0.35 mm or 0.45 mm in diameter. The tip of the electrode is polished to a conical shape. During implantation and stimulation, a holder (b) provides an electric connection and fixation of the stimulating electrode in the arm of the stereotaxic apparatus. After cementing the electrode in a place, the two connector pins of the stimulating electrode are inserted into a plastic pedestal (either c – pedestal from Invilog, or d – PlasticOne product).
